Down to (small) business, Part II: Who the Aubia Communications Blog is for and why

If you’ve found your way to the AubiaCommunications Blog, you’re probably looking for information about Public Relations, what it is and how to apply it to your business objectives. Thanks for visiting. If you’re looking for PR strategies and tactics, then you’re in the right place. This blog covers all things PR for those who might not have an extensive background in the field but still want to use these practices to enhance their business methods. With the content found here, you can put PR techniques to use and met your professional goals.

I began my Public Relations career in earnest working for PR agencies in Atlanta and then moving into government Public Affairs (for my full experience, check out the About section). These positions gave me a strong foundation in the field, and I’ve been able to hone my skill set through various ventures such as hosting media days and public meetings, handling crisis events, developing Strategic Communications plans and social media programs, creating newspaper publications, and coordinating special events.

I created Aubia Communications to provide those PR skills to clients with unique needs in a variety of industries. I’ve worked on accounts for large corporations and organizations, but I found developing relationships with the niche sub-organizations in these entities is where I really prevailed. Any issue the organization faced, I could call on my network of subject matter experts and develop a communications plan that met the need.

With Aubia Communications and this blog, I focus on those smaller entities offering that expertise. This is where I can offer the most assistance to organizations that have unique skills and a niche in their market, but they just might not have the resources available to stand out in the industry. I work with them because I admire their commitment to their professions and causes and believe they deserve the recognition that PR can bring them.

The typical readers of this blog are small business owners or organization directors that have a wealth of information for consumers, they are dedicated to bringing an excellent product or service in a fair practice to their consumers, they have a professional vision, and they are passionate about what they offer. These entrepreneurs and non-profit leaders most likely don’t have a background in Public Relations and don’t know how to capitalize on PR techniques. They also don’t have the budget to hire a large PR agency with a full account team to help them.

This is where the Aubia Communications Blog comes in. Here, I provide recipe-like instructions on how to carry out certain PR strategies and tactics. Small businesses and non-profit organizations may find their promotion strategies lost in all the noise consumers contend with each day. I’ll teach you how to segment your target audience down to the detail to provide the best methods in reaching them. Your organization is hosting its signature annual event, but only your loyal clients know about it and you want to invite the entire community. You’ll learn how to garner interest through media pitches and relationship building. You and your company want to be prepared for any disaster. I give you the steps of crisis communications planning.

Though most of my blog posts will focus on small business and non-profit organizations, the information found here can be used by entities large or small wanting to learn more about PR and apply those lessons. I welcome everyone to learn about PR, what it is, how it works, and what it can do for you.
